| Memorial Day Weekend is here! |
| The Cub Scouts of Pack 909 appreciate your support of the flag program and your patriotism. We will launch the 2020 Flag season this weekend for Memorial Day! You will see flags being put out Friday evening through Saturday evening (a few went up earlier than that due to families going out of town). Our cub scouts have been asked to put out their assigned flags by Saturday night (May 23rd). They will be taken down by Tuesday, May 26th. Some larger sections of Fall Creek are divided up and take several volunteer families so it’s possible that some flags could go up with the rest going up at a later time. We ask volunteers to try and coordinate their schedules in those sections but sometimes it isn’t possible. We understand this causes confusion and we apologize for that. We appreciate your patience as our volunteers work to install over 400 flags! Sign-ups for the Cub Scout Flag Program go on year-round; however, the deadline has passed to have a flag installed for Memorial Day. We require sign-ups and renewals to be in a week before the holiday so we can distribute the correct amount of supplies to our volunteer families. Any sign-up received after May 16th will after be installed beginning with the July 4th holiday. Unfortunately, we have to set deadlines to ensure that our volunteers have everything they need for the upcoming holiday. As a reminder, the area BOY SCOUT troop installs flags at the entrances of the villages. They install flags the morning of the actual holiday and take them down at sunset. The Cub Scout flags in combination with the Boy Scout flags make for an enjoyable display throughout the neighborhood. The flag holidays vary between the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts display flags on Flag Day and the Cub Scouts do not. —————- What is the Cub Scout Flag Program? It’s a service project fundraiser held by our local Fall Creek Cub Scout Pack 909. Cub Scout Pack 909 members will place the United States flag at your residence on the following national holidays: ● Memorial Day – May 25, 2020 ● Independence Day – July 4, 2020 ● Labor Day – September 7, 2020 (we leave flags up through Patriots Day) ● Patriots Day – September 11, 2020 ● Veterans Day – November 11, 2020 This program is for Fall Creek and Park Lakes only.
