This Friday, October 23 is the deadline to register for the Risher Virtual 5K and receive the official race shirt and swag bag. Do not miss this opportunity to run or walk virtually with other participants across Texas while supporting a great cause. All proceeds will go directly to Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation. During the pandemic our Texas parks and public land have seen higher than usual visitations. Our parks and public lands have provided a safe place for many people to enjoy the outdoors. Risher wants to give back to our parks and public land to ensure they have the resources to support people’s new found love of our beautiful state’s outdoors.
The Virtual Risher 5K Fun Run may be completed anywhere, anytime between Wednesday, November 11th and Sunday, November 15th. Strolls with the family dog, pavement runs with the stroller, and treadmill jogs while watching TV are all acceptable! For just $20, you will receive a traditional race t-shirt and swag bag full of goodies. The fastest male and female over 40 and the fastest male and female under 40 will be awarded prizes. All registered participants will be entered into a drawing for multiple prizes!
For those that miss the in-person excitement of a road race or prefer a little bit more accountability, Saturday, November 14th from 8am – 10am is the designated time to complete your miles in person. Miles can be completed at any point between the designated hours and all finishing times are based on the honor system. A 3.1 mile course map will be provided for those starting and finishing at the Fall Creek Clubhouse. Water, snacks, music, be entered to win raffle prizes, and more will be waiting after you complete your run/walk. Participants that have already completed their miles are also welcome!
