Attention Residents:
The Fall Creek Annual Meeting of Members will be held December 12, 2017, at Fall Creek Elementary.
The Annual Meeting notice that was mailed was missing the number of candidates to vote for on the ballot. Please be advised, there are two (2) positions available on the Board of Directors.
Below are the candidates:
Jennifer Grillo
My name is Jennifer Grillo and I am running for re-election to Fall Creek’s HOA Board. I have served as Vice President of the Board for the past three years. I am very proud of the many accomplishments we have made. I was instrumental in obtaining three additional officers as Fall Creek’s population grew, and I helped stop commercial trucks from parking on Bellows Falls. I have been the Board’s liaison to the crime watch committee, landscape committee, tennis committee, gate committee, and social events committee. I have been head of Music in May for 8 years, an event very near and dear to my heart. I went to Austin to argue our opposition to the low-income housing. Although we were unsuccessful in the end, I was truly amazed and grateful how our residents came together for that cause. Being Vice President has been hard work and many hours, but has been totally worth it. I do it for my family, friends and neighbors. Fall Creek is the best community to live in and I am so happy to call it “Home.”
I have lived in Fall Creek for 9 years with my husband Mike and our two daughters Peyton and Darby who are both at Woodcreek Middle School. I am an attorney, and I primarily focus on medical malpractice defense. As an attorney, I am able to analyze situations and proposals through an objective perspective and determine the pros & cons and most importantly unintended consequences that may not be readily apparent to others. I can be pragmatic or think outside the box depending on the circumstances. I take what I do seriously, and I always try to be kind and respectful to others. I have been very active in the community including FOPAWS, Fall Creek Elementary’s PTO, swim team, Ladies Night In, and several other social groups.
I have seen Fall Creek grow and prosper. I hope I have served you well. I ask for your vote so that I may continue to work for you and our wonderful neighborhood.
Emily Trevino
My husband Kristian and I have lived in Fall Creek with our three children, Kayden (11), and
Carolina and Olivia (1) since August 2015. Prior to that, we resided in downtown Houston. I am originally from Idaho, and spent my childhood as a navy dependent residing in Charleston, SC, Guam, and Philippines. My son, Kayden, attends Fall Creek Elementary and participates in Ukulele club, Heatwave soccer, Fall Creek Flying Fish, and is an avid fisherman. My daughters volunteer their time cheering on their brother at his various events.
Education: BS, Biology and Chemistry – Angelo State University
Professional Experience: I have been in various customer service, marketing, and management roles within the health insurance industry for the last ten years. I began working with Bravo Health/CIGNA then branched to a brokerage firm before starting my own health insurance Agency in May 2014. I currently manage and monitor over 100 health insurance brokers in Texas. I assist the brokers with developing various marketing initiatives while ensuring they maintain regulatory compliance with Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services and Health and Human Services. I develop community education programs and customer service policy and procedures for brokers to utilize in their businesses.
Fall Creek Interactions: I have attended most of the HOA meetings since I moved to Fall Creek. I began working with the HOA in January 2016 with the Dog Park Committee. This committee later joined forces with Parks and Trails Committee in which we developed a 10 year master plan to enhance existing parks and amenities while ensuring connectivity to all amenities for all residents via the trail systems.
While working on this Master plan, I have attended meetings and worked with WCID96,
Fall Creek Management District, and Friends of Fall Creek Park to discuss partnerships for
various funding alternatives for the Master Plan. I am currently organizing the Stampede 5k and Kids Duathlon to raise funds for shade structures in Fall Creek parks.
I am seeking a position on the board because I am motivated to improve the community
based on home owners needs and feedback and I want to make sure we are well positioned to meet future challenges. I believe in representing one united voice for our residents of all villages and the various community outreach groups and committees representing us.
I intend to use my objective thinking, proactivity, and effective communication skills learned through my professional background to contribute to the HOA board while capitalizing on the solid framework already in place. My customer service experience will be a good addition to the board with addressing resident’s questions, concerns, and/or issues.
My Fall Creek interactions have brought a lot of experience in knowing the inner workings of government and private organization interactions with Fall Creek. Understanding these dynamics will help with maintaining fluid and positive relationships with such organizations for the betterment of Fall Creek.
Please consider me for the HOA board, as it would be a privilege to represent Fall Creek.
Nicholas Urbano
Volunteerism is important to me. I would like to be part of actively serving and creating solutions for our neighborhood and community.
Prior to moving to Fall Creek, we lived in the West End of Houston, part of Super Neighborhood 22. I served as the VP of the Civic Club for two years. I also was the President of a community activism volunteer organization named Responsible Urban Development for Houston. Our goal was to seek public and private partnerships and elevate community input in commercial developments that the city was monetarily incentivizing.
From 2003-2008 I was a volunteer coach for the Houstonians Futbol Club. HFC provides opportunities for low income players to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer in the country. We graduated a few professional players and placed the majority of kids into college scholarships upon high school graduation. I also served as the club’s Vice President for 2 years.
Between 2001 and 2012, I was a member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Football Association. I was elected league President from 2008-2012. The HFA governs over 100 teams and over 2000 players as one of the largest US Soccer affiliated amateur adult soccer associations in Texas and the US.
Since moving to Fall Creek in 2012, I established and volunteer my time running Fall Creek Adult Soccer League and Fall Creek Adult Kickball Leagues. We currently run 2 seasons of each sport per year.
Full time, I am a Regional Sales Manager for an international technology firm working from home, and my wife is a part time consultant working in the financial services field. Our daughter is a kindergartner at Fall Creek Elementary and participates on the Fall Creek Flying Fish Swim team.
We are appreciative of the community and friends we have made here in Fall Creek. I hope to continue improving our community by serving as a volunteer on the HOA Board.
